Operating System Support

Table 1 shows the operating system (OS) support for the Altera^® Complete Design Suite tools, which include Quartus^® II Subscription Edition software, Quartus II Web Edition software, ModelSim^®-Altera Edition, ModelSim-Altera Starter Edition, Nios^® II Embedded Design Suite, and DSP Builder.

Note:

1. Altera software supports 32-bit and 64-bit versions of supported operating systems (OSs) unless otherwise specified. You can run 32-bit Altera software in the 32-bit or 64-bit versions of supported OSs; however, you can run 64-bit Altera software only in 64-bit versions of supported OSs.
2. The Quartus II Subscription Edition software is supported on all versions of the operating systems listed above. The Quartus II Web Edition software is supported on the 32-bit versions of the operating systems.
3. ModelSim-Altera software can presently be run only in the 32-bit mode for both 32-bit and 64-bit OS platform.
4. The Red Hat and SUSE Linux OS version specified above applies to it's Desktop and Server variant as well.
5. For CentOS Linux, any releases under version specified above are supported.
